week #33: for anyone who was unclear we are still mixing and we're playing on saturday
hellooo
i realized that i basically stopped telling you all that we're still mixing the album because it got repetitive, boring, inevitable. but that's the truth. we are still mixing. i'll open up this email saying, yes yes yes, we are still mixing, but we're close, besides the song we had to re-record (track #6, scars (the one with the vocoder) which we returned to studio g on friday april 5 to do so, and are recording perhaps some trumpet & cornet at a home studio in brooklyn), we are like 85-95% done on any given track. yes, that's the update. it's slow going. but it'll be worth it
meanwhile - we played our first radio session at WCPR in new jersey and it slayed. was so much fun to try out a new form (Definitely took some adjusting at first) and ultimately we had a blast....
most importantly... this weekend... not to repeat myself but:
saturday april 13: we are playing scully's den in bushwick, brooklyn. this is a DM for address situation (@partygirl.band on instagram). a true DIY party and function thrown by the iconic shawn chávez... AND we get to welcome our new saxophone player, jenna love!!! come say hello, come say goodbye to this special place,,, goodbye goodbye! with a bang.

last week, to be honest, i rested a bunch because the week prior (two weeks ago) had me feeling EXHAUSTED. but this weekend: huge massive activities are coming forth
thurs apr 11: rat palace, boyscoutmarie, at our wicked lady??? you bet i'll be there.
fri apr 12: puzzled panther of casa gogol is at heaven can wait. also will be there
sat apr 13: first we record trumpet and cornet with icon henry tisch (of picture show fame) and then we head to scully's....
sun apr 14: we accept that in the morning we'll likely be hungover. but i'll be hitting barbès in park slope to hear maendros - greek traditional music - - in the evening. shout out to colleague & osha expert eric for the recommendation.
that's all for now! guess it was a lot. see you,,, at the gig.
