week #1: sweaty summer shows, cold beer, demos, demos, and more demos

welcome to our mailing list :) we're thrilled to be a real band with real communication standards and not just silly posting on socials (although be patient because technically pag has to learn how to soft code to format these emails correctly, and she is not a 'woman in stem' like claire).
anyway: we're scaling, we're growing, and we are, of course... partying. the summer is coming to a close and boy, we are heating up!

saturday august 19 - the tea factory, rooftop music festival in bushwick sunday august 20 - union pool, williamsburg friday august 25 - secret album listening show at 46 barrow street, greenwich village (BYOB)
and post-labor day... saturday september 9 - the broadway, bushwick sunday september 10 - arlene's, manhattan
the album
thank you to many of yall - we have been able to move forward with making this album!!! deposit has been made, studio has been booked, and we have begun the long demoing process, recording our drafts in our rehearsal studio 5 days a week, late into the night after our 9 to 5s, keeping that beer fridge stocked and the coffee pot warm.
we are still fundraising of course - there is much more to cover - but absolutely cannot wait to play through the whole album, for the first time, for an audience, on friday august 25.
the party blog
upon mana-joe's (manager joey's) suggestion, we've decided to add a blog portion to these emails: what is a rock n roll lifestyle get you in nyc these days? what are we up to? what are we listening to, eating, drinking, watching etc.?
on wednesday, pag and fran were working on the demos in frans apt in bushwick, and after joey arrived fresh with a summer six pack (pacifico, we're not sponsored) we made our way to our wicked lady for our friend vincent's (vincent blackshadow) album release show!! we think steely dan rose from the grave and blessed vincent with that holy spirit, making some hard rocking, hard grooving tunes :)
album releases were big this weeek - friday another brooklyn rock n roller deli released his debut solo album, delivision. pag and claire attended his lovely backyard party, bbq, and music showcase in bushwick.
MOST importantly friday of course was fran's birthday (fran day!) we rocked some drinks and laughs at tv eye, ran into many a mutual, and celebrated fran for all her fast shredding, deep producing, hard rocking greatness.
the weekend has wrapped up. we of course went to more shows (joey headed to our wicked lady on saturday; pag and joey stopped by show brain series at tompkins after writing this very email), worked on more demos (drums and bass thursday, keys and violin on saturday), and ate lots of good late night (pag had her new/old favorite, superiority burger, late on friday after fran's bday) and regular hour food (pag and joey hit up newtown before our wicked lady for hella good falafel).
