julia and i saw anatomy of a fall on tuesday. i thought, well legal dramas maybe aren't my favorite type of film. and like, it was too french? too postmodern? too what is the truth does the truth matter can we even have the full truth? but it didn't reallyyyy commit to you know, implicating the court system / the state as an ideological and thus harmful arbiter of truth, so simultaneously the movie's argument felt insufficient. ultimately too french. and ultimately could have been, an hour shorter lol.
dearest autumn angelettie assistant directed the hell out of roundabout theater's jonah , a play about healing and bodily autonomy and gender, and i was lucky enough to join her as her date to opening night last thursday.
friday night autumn and i went to see pal jaucqir perform the lead in branden jacob-jenkins's an octoroon , a play about american racism, minstrelsy, and 'the theater', at columbia university's schapiro studio theater.
and so it goes.... see you somewhere i hope.
