the place where he inserted the blade
Good morning! I’ve pulled myself out of a depression hole and am writing this note with an open chest and calm(er) mind. TODAY is Bandcamp Friday. And boy, besides the usual shirts, shorts, and hats, do we have a holiday treat for you…
In July, we went to New Jersey’s very own Prototype237 with full hearts & empty hands and walked out with a three new tracks, including our version of Black Country, New Road’s 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒆. It’s available on Bandcamp now for only $1, and since it’s Bandcamp Friday, that whole dollar goes directly to us :)
Thanks to everyone who helped put this together, but especially Chris Harth and this HOLY! Rodeo who invited us to do the whole big thing. We’re, for better or for worse, always compared to Black Country, New Road (although we always insist we’re more rock n’ roll lol) and were so glad to interpret a song we love so much. Ants from Up There and this song in particular got me through a grueling breakup in 2022 so it meant a lot to me to interpret the story on my terms and from my perspective (yes, I changed a few lyrics).
