Issue #19 — Build AI agents for GTM tasks in plain English, no code required
What it is
Lindy is an AI agent builder that lets you create automated workflows — called "Lindys" — using natural language. Unlike traditional automation tools like Zapier, Lindy's agents can make decisions, understand context, and perform complex multi-step tasks. The practical use case for GTM teams: you describe a job — "when a new inbound lead arrives, research them, draft a personalized email, and log it to HubSpot" — and Lindy builds the agent that runs it 24/7. No Zapier zap chains. No Python. No ops contractor.
Where it sits in the stack
The product positions itself as the "AI employee" layer between a chatbot and a classic Zapier-style automation: smarter than a deterministic recipe, easier to ship than a custom Python agent, and cheaper than hiring an ops contractor. It sits in the orchestration/automation layer and pairs most naturally with HubSpot or Salesforce (CRM sync), Gmail or Outlook (inbox triggers), and tools like Clay or Apollo as upstream lead sources. Lindy is not the right choice if you need precise, deterministic workflow automation — use Make or Zapier for that — or want full code control and self-hosting, where n8n wins.
Three workflows people actually run
1. Inbound lead qualification + CRM logging — A new form fill or inbound email hits Gmail. The Lindy agent fires, researches each individual lead to write personalized outreach that converts, then adds itself to threads — like a human assistant — to send calendar availability and schedule meetings. After the meeting, the agent automatically updates your CRM, saving hours a week and ensuring data is always up-to-date. Stack: Gmail trigger → Lindy agent (research + draft) → HubSpot or Salesforce write-back → Calendly or Google Calendar booking.
2. Post-call follow-up + call coaching — Lindy joins meetings from Google Calendar, records the conversation, creates transcripts, and writes structured notes in Google Docs. After the meeting, Lindy can send Slack or email summaries with action items and trigger follow-up workflows across apps like HubSpot and Gmail. Separately, a Lindy agent can sit in your sales calls and provide coaching, drawing on both best practices and your own docs. Stack: Google Calendar trigger → Lindy meeting bot → Google Docs notes → Slack summary → HubSpot deal update.
3. Multi-agent outbound sequence — Multi-agent collaboration lets different Lindy agents work together: one qualifies leads, another sends follow-ups, and a third updates the CRM. In practice: pull a list from Apollo or Clay, fire a qualification agent that scores each lead against your ICP criteria, hand off warm leads to a sequencing agent that drafts first-touch emails, then log every action back to Salesforce. For tools that lack APIs, the "Computer Use" feature lets agents operate a virtual desktop — clicking through web applications, filling forms, extracting data from screens — which is particularly useful for legacy systems or web apps without API integrations. Computer Use requires Pro or above.
What it costs
The current lineup on lindy.ai/pricing: Plus at $49.99/month (standard usage, up to 2 inboxes), Pro at $99.99/month (3x more usage, 3 inboxes, computer use, model selection), Max at $199.99/month (7x more usage, 5 inboxes). Billing is monthly only — no annual discount.
Enterprise pricing requires contacting the sales team.
The credit gotchas — read these before buying:
- Lindy charges credits per action, and the rate varies significantly. Simple actions like sending a message use roughly 1 credit each; complex actions like email parsing, web research, or multi-step lead workflows can use 5–10+ credits per execution; voice calls burn through credits considerably faster than text-based tasks.
- The "standard usage" quota for Plus is a number Lindy no longer publishes, and by default your agent simply pauses when you hit it.
- You can opt into overages at 2x the normal credit rate. There is no way to buy a one-off credit pack, and unused credits do not roll over.
- Large-model steps cost roughly 3–10x basic-model steps, and picking your model is gated to Pro and above.
- Each phone number costs $10/month, and calls meter per minute on top.
- A one-time onboarding fee of approximately $1,500 is an additional barrier for Enterprise that doesn't appear on the main pricing page.

Who it's for (and who should skip it)
Solo founders and small ops leads are the sweet spot. If you're the founder, the ops lead, and the first salesperson at the same time, Lindy is one of the cheaper ways to get an "AI employee" handling email triage, follow-ups, lead enrichment, and CRM updates. Plus at $49.99/mo is a fair trade for the hours recovered.
Lindy only makes sense when you need AI judgment — when the task requires understanding context, making decisions, or generating content rather than just moving data between apps. If your workflows are "when X happens, do Y," save your money. If they're "when X happens, figure out the best response and draft it," that's Lindy's territory.
Skip it if your workflows are high-volume and predictable. Billing surprises are the dominant theme in Lindy's Trustpilot reviews, including reports of users charged in significant overages against low-tier subscriptions and multiple reports of post-cancellation charges. If you're running a 500-lead/day outbound motion with rigid, repeatable steps, a deterministic tool like Make or n8n will give you cheaper and more predictable unit economics. Lindy earns its cost when the work requires judgment, not just volume.
