This is Cheesefare Week, the final week before the start of Great Lent. Meat is no longer permitted, but eggs, dairy, fish, wine, and oil are still allowed as we prepare ourselves spiritually for the Lenten journey ahead. The week concludes with Forgiveness Sunday, when we commemorate the Expulsion of Adam from Paradise and ask forgiveness of one another before entering the Great Fast.
