openwashdata news 12 - hackathon & graduates

โ˜€๏ธ In this newsletter, we celebrate our first-ever openwashdata hackathon, 20 graduates from our first "data science for openwashdata" course, and a mathematician's internship experience in WASH.

๐Ÿš€ First Data Package Hackathon Success

On June 21st, openwashdata successfully hosted the first data package hackathon. Six data enthusiasts gathered in Zurich to work on diverse WASH datasets from countries like Malawi ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ผ, Uganda ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ, Brazil ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท, Peru ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ช, and Ghana ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ญ. In a hands-on session, Mian Zhong introduced the participants to the openwashdata workflow of data package development. Within just 8 hours, every participant delivered an impressive data package.
