openDAW's Audio-Engine Now Powered By WebAssembly

We have been quietly rebuilding the heart of openDAW, and it is now live for everyone.

The whole audio core has been rewritten in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. In plain terms, that means openDAW now runs at near-native speed right inside your browser, without any install and without any plugins.

What this means for you…

Speed. Some devices are now up to 4x faster, and at least 2x faster on average. That headroom matters most on modest machines, which makes openDAW a lot more comfortable in classrooms and on school laptops.

Robustness. Every voice, device, and automation curve was rebuilt from scratch and tested for parity against the old engine. Playback stays clean and click-free, even under load.

Ready today. The new engine is already the default. There is nothing to switch on and nothing to download. If you open openDAW, you are already using it.
