I wrote a little thing to describe this song for the press release:

“A glacial melody pulses while obscured choral voices intertwine with wailing synths above. A massive boom repeats, fracturing the landscape. Whether thunder or gunshots, the sound is an awakening of the spirit. "nevada" truly reflects open land and holds a holy reverence for space and openness. And in that space there may be a painful memory, but that memory is softened by time, letting beauty in.”

I think it works, but i can’t put the true feeling into a perfect paragraph, it’s just the feeling of my soul coming out of my gut into the song. if you could hack into my webcam you’d see me gesticulating my arms outward, that’s what it feels like. actually let me save you the effort and show you one second…

i may have mentioned this before but i recorded a series of one-take landscape shots in IOWA this december with my friend patrick o’connor. here is the one we took for nevada.

IOWA Vinyls are available via Trans Music Archive, and all proceeds from the vinyls and Bandcamp will go to the Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund.

And finally, please join me at the Ridgewood Presbyterian Church (aka Stone Circle Theater) for the release show of the record on Friday, 3/6.
