Dad—this one’s for you…

Love ya!
But in all seriousness, I’ve always admired your love of computers. You’ve literally been there since the beginning when digital tech was just emerging. You saw the peak years of Digital (based in Maynard, Massachusetts not too far from where I live now) before it collapsed. You’ve always been at the forefront of technology. Meanwhile, I’ve always been a bit more analog. Maybe it’s all going full circle?
According to Forbes and others, 2026 was supposed to be the “Year of Analog.” Having spent more hours of the day staring at my screen than I care to admit, that doesn’t ring true to me. The present is absolutely digital. But like a lot of folks, I really do crave all things analog. The tactile, hands-on work involved that makes screen-printing work is definitely what keeps me going.
In fact, I like this “analog!” idea so much, I’ve even considered changing the name of Not Quite (or “Not Quite Famous” which is where things seem to be moving) to something like Analog Print Shop. Still on the table (don’t tell anyone, but I did buy analogprintshop.com). Before I go changing names, though, I have to figure out how to make this business model profitable first. A name change won’t help with that. And by my calculations, I need to sell well over one thousand tee shirts just to break even. That’s a lot of shirts! More than I care to print to be honest. But that’s a topic for another day. So I’ll leave you with this…
Digital is dead. Long live analog!
-Andy

ps. Not sure what I’m going to do with this little graphic. I’ve probably spent way too much time on it already. Despite the analog resurgence, I can’t imagine too many other people out there will get the digital/analog backstory. Maybe I’m wrong?
