for those who are new or those who have forgotten, hello! i’m eva, i design and build webstuff, and at some point you fed your email into a box on my website at eva.town.
i’m here to share a few updates along with links to things i’ve been enjoying.

letterpress
last weekend I took a letterpress class at the center for book arts. it was a joy. while pressing letters, i had thoughts about friction and the technological systems that shape our interactions.

namesake + superbloom
finally, namesake, the org I run to help trans people navigate the legal name change process has been fiscally sponsored by superbloom! this means that we’ll have more opportunities to receive grants and other sources of funding. we’ve already been awarded a $5,000 grant from Trans Justice Funding Project. ❣️
if you want to support our work, you can donate here.

listening
Why Do We Only Listen to Dead People? - sundays from 6–8pm on WFMU: taking classical music not-too-seriously
1001 Albums Generator - “1001 albums chosen by a panel of music critics to be the most important and influential in popular music. This site will help you listen to them all. One album a day.” So far it’s a lot of dad rock.
Robyn - Dopamine - mama I have been MISSING U
Angela Bacari - MacArthur Park - I heard this insane arrangement of MacArthur park on WFMU and I have been obsessed ever since. there are no good recordings online so I bought the vinyl off ebay and I will be digitizing and archiving it at the Brooklyn Public Library soon
watching
Cats (2019) - oh god, why did Margot convince me to take an edible and watch this?
DS9: Redefined - “A Loving Restoration and HD Upscale of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”
reading
Tao Te Ching - did you know that renowned science fiction author Ursula K. Le Guin published a translation of the 2,500 year old Tao Te Ching? neither did I, until I spotted it in a bookstore. I’ve been enjoying opening it to a random page and receiving a little life advice every day
