NEMCA is thrilled to share this lecture by Michael Perovich that explores vaudeville through the lens of magic. This fast-paced lecture reveals the pioneers, troupers, and legends of vaudeville-era magic. Michael also shares details behind the rise of vaudeville: at its height in the early twentieth century, vaudeville employed tens of thousands of artists and generated substantial box-office revenues, making it the most popular mass entertainment in the United States before the rise of radio and motion pictures.
