This Month's (Moving) Art Events
As always, several figure drawing and general art meetups are occurring every month in the same place - you can find links to those on ncartmeets.com. Here are the outdoor meetups:
- Saturday, February 14 (pm): Urban Sketching at CAM Raleigh with Scott Renk's CAM Raleigh USK group
- Sunday, February 15: M.U.S. SketchUp - Eno River Brewing (Hillsborough) with the Mebane urban sketchers
- Saturday, February 28: Nasher Museum at Duke with Durham Plein Air/USK - this is the new date since it was supposed to happen this past Saturday
Next month, Raleigh Outdoor Painting Group will be back with their first event at NCMA park.
New/changed meetups
Nothing new to report this month! As always, let me know if you find any new recurring live art meetups not yet on the website.
Content and fun stuff
- You Are Insignificant. That's a Good Thing. - "The liberation of insignificance: it lets you focus on what actually matters to you, right now, without the weight of cosmic importance crushing you."
- Shameless self-plug: In addition to the hand-carved rubber stamp making workshop, I'm also teaching an indoor basics of urban sketching with ink and watercolor in Hillsborough in February. It's perfect if you struggle with perspective and/or loosening up on location. Join me!
