Hey friends,

Did you hear the joke about October?

Never mind, you'll never Fall for it.

Words I Wrote ✍️

October... or should I say, ARTober?

At Viget, we've decided to run our own art challenge for the whole month of October, patterned after InkTober (but without the controversy). 31 days, 31 one-word prompts, 31 pieces of art created.

There are a few things I love about the format of this challenge:

• It takes away the base question of 'what' do draw, and instead relies on interpretation of the prompt.
• It helps foster a routine of creating, but within a reasonable timeframe (1 month).
• It keeps you from being too precious about your work, because the pacing requires you to be ready for the next prompt.

I've drawn more in the last few days than in the last decade, which has been a welcome addition to my schedule—I haven't drawn like this since art school!

Do you have any creative routines in your day? If not, you might enjoy a challenge like this!
