Five-ish Days of Extreme Heat

Hey folks, hope those of you with an impending heatwave or inclement weather all stay safe and reasonably comfortable! With the extra incentive to stay inside, I’ve got a few updates ahead of July to share.

  1. I’ve resurrected my blog, mostly for short indy book reviews, starting with Mario Aliberto III’s All The Dead We Have Yet to Bury.

Picture of a paperback copy of “All the Dead We Have Yet to Bury” by Mario Aliberto III sitting on a wooden table.
  2. I had a fantastic time chatting with Hayley Shucker as a guest on her First Chapter’s Podcast, you can check the interview out here. We talked about Family Night, Horsegirl, and more!

  3. I have been very kindly invited to read at a couple of very exciting launches this coming month! Please come check them out if you’re able!

July 2 @8PM ET: Come celebrate the release of Elizabeth Rosen’s Survival Skills with a reading featuring Pegah Ouji, Ani King, Sumitra Singam, Jaime Gill, Travis Flatt, Dawn Tasaka Steffler and Sarah Starr Murphy. Sign in to the reading here. Passcode is 733507.

July 15 @7PM ET: Get ready for an awesome online literary evening featuring Brett Hanley and some special guests! It's a super fun way to celebrate the release of Brett’s first collection of poetry, I Was Your Bird. You won't want to miss this!

Hosted by Nicole Tallman, Poet Laureate of Miami and JLP director with special introducation by Simone Muench, poetry edtior, Jackleg Press.

  4. Alas, Stanchion’s next issue will be their last. I’m so sad to see this publication close, Jeff Bogle has put out beautiful books and issues and has supported the flash community at large for such a long time. You can Preorder Stanchion Issue 24 here; I’m honored to have “If You Were That Eve” in this final issue.

  5. Family Night can be found on Goodreads and StoryGraph now — if you are interested in doing an early review or interview, please feel free to respond here and let me know, I’m sure I’d love to chat with you!

  6. No raccoon today, but here’s Potato-cat demonstrating what it’s like to have never had a single worry.

Picture of a fat, sleepy grey tabby cat being absolutely, utterly relaxed while laying on a lush, sage green chair, with a gold velvet round pillow in one corner, and a green brocade pillow in the other. This cat has never had a single problem in his whole cat life.
