Dear ones,
I had sort of been waiting for some new publications to drop, so I could link to them, thereby gilding your reading life, but they remain aloft, at least for now. Stay tuned: a handful of brand-new poems have been picked up and will be appearing shortly, as will a new review of the poem book, and some scholarly work.
The big news for now is that I've been invited to read from
Phases in New York City in April! There's a journal called
The Mockingbird (which really is a beautiful publication) and they host arts conferences all over the place. They published a few of my poems and said
some nice things about the book when it came out, and are now having me come read alongside some heroes of mine:
Alan Jacobs, from whose new book I'm teaching at SPU this term, and
Alissa Wilkinson, whose cultural musings I've been gorging myself on for the last few years. So, if you'll be in NYC, come
say hi; if you know people there, put us in touch (forward this letter maybe). I'd like to set up a few side readings while I'm out there, so if you know anybody...
That's it for now.
Big love from Seattle,
Mischa Willett

Oddments
- My friend Peter Moe wrote this little essay about postcards which I found charming.
- My friend Jake Armerding is kickstarting a new album played on an instrument that sounds imaginary, whose fundraising period ends next week.
- I read a Donald Hall poem to my laptop about dead horses.
- Pick up, or rather, have a major online book warehouse send you via the post office, a copy of my book.
Bless
