It’s June, I guess
Hi. It’s June. I’m glad you’re still here. Here’s some stuff you might find interesting.
Workshop Row
Are people in your organization arguing over which source of data actually matters to decisions? Are they even making those decisions based on evidence, or something else? Do you feel like you need to avoid using the words "design" or "research" to be taken seriously in these times? You should sign up for Erika’s Let’s Do Design Research Right workshop on June 11.
Tired of dreading presentations, walk-throughs, and job interviews? Tired of people expecting you to ace something they never bothered to take the time to teach you how to do? Yeah, they suck. You don’t. Presenting w/Confidence workshops are now on sale for both June and July.
Summer Reading
Honestly, I’m kind of hesitant to tell you to read industry trade books during the summer when you should be reading fun books. But then I remembered it’s other industry trade books that suck, and our books are fun. Therefore, they’re excellent summer reading. They’re also 100% written by humans, unlike whazzisname’s books.
…and don’t sleep on the special collectible Shitty Pulp editions, such as Ruined by Design and Just Enough Research. The same books you already love, but now harder to read.
Strays
I’ve figured out how to beat the Linkedin algorithm.
Here’s a new stupid t-shirt you can give us money for.
Rate some chickens.
Designers are still arguing about titles.
AI continues to be shit, even though it cost you your job.
The previous article is so good that I’m willing to link to it even though it’s on Substack, but I’m not gonna pass up the opportunity to remind you that Substack is a nazi bar.
