MOON BULLETIN - it's bug season
Yesterday, while sitting under a tree in New Jersey, avoiding a couple of responsibilities, I noticed that I was being invaded by inchworms. I counted seven crawling up my legs, along my palm. I’m not sure why this particular tree was such a hub for these bright green creatures, but I regardless found it to be a reminder that this is the season for the bugs.
Imagine you are a little worm. After a long winter as a dormant egg on a leaf or in the ground, you finally get to stretch your many legs. Now the temperatures are warmer and you begin to explore the world around you, hungry for delicious leaves to munch on, so that you can grow and grow until you have the energy (and the time is right) to form a chrysalis and reach your final stage — the moth. Spring is a vibrant time for most life as it perks up, feasts, and has a lot of sex (I’m looking at you, birds…). So even when it rains or is cooler than we humans might prefer, there’s still a vibrant ecology all around us we can draw energy and inspiration from. Living is all around us, if we only know where to look!
