Still here. Just painting.
Here’s the deal. You haven’t heard from me in a while and although I feel kinda bad about it, I also kinda don’t.
I've mostly been painting these days. That image up there is a recent one. It’s about slavery and it’s about being Portuguese. And it’s about how, until you atone for the sins of the past they are forever mapping your future. It’s a whole thing.
Here’s another one:
That one’s pretty self-explanatory.
So yeah, this is what I've been doing these days. I mean to write more… but that would take away from painting. I mean to put together a website with the paintings (which would actually be helpful for getting shows and shit)… but that would take away from painting.
And honestly… any time I look up from painting all I hear is my idiot friends in tech trying to convince people that blockchain, web3, nfts, crypto, AI is the future, and it just all feels kind of insane? Especially as the water off the coast of Florida rises to over 100ºF.
Anyway, I’ll be painting. And sharing them with you once in a while.
As always, I’m glad you’re still here.
(Oh, since no one asked… the paintings are made of wax. Or encaustic, if you’re fancy. Why? I dunno, man. It’s fun?)
Oh, right: buy the newly updated Design Is a Job. I need the money for painting supplies.
