I accidentally wrote a children’s book
TL;DR: Click here to give me money.
A few months ago my friend Betsy Streeter posted an illustration to a chat room. I saw that illustration and it evoked a story, so I typed it out and hit reply. We did it again.
Today we are excited to announce that we’ve filled an entire volume with these wacky collaborations. We call it Sofa Stories. The illustrations are a fucking delight. Check out Reggie:
Pretty sweet, right? So you look at Reggie and you're coming up with a nice narrative probably full of sweetness and light. Maybe a grandma baking cookies in the next room or something. Reader, here’s how broken I am:
Reggie always looked forward to his sessions with Dr. Bill. It was nice to have an adult listen to him. He especially liked it when Dr. Bill asked follow-up questions, like he was following along. He even remembered the names of all of Reggie’s friends, which admittedly wasn’t too hard because there were only three. And Brad came up the most. In fact, Brad was the reason Reggie’s parents first brought him to Dr. Bill. But the best part was when they were done talking and Reggie got to pick a candy bar out of the big bowl. He usually got a Twix and shared it with Brad the next day.
So yeah, maybe it’s not really a children’s book, but it’s a very delightful book, and even if my stories suck you’re still getting 30 Betsy illustrations in full color for a very reasonable price. So maybe just buy it for that reason.
And if you buy it now, like right now, not next week, you’ll get it in time for that gift giving thing if that’s how you roll.
I love you all. All is love. Srsly, buy the book.
