This Week’s Track:
Justin Hurwitz - Cincinnati
La La Land (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) - 2016
I love La La Land. This movie means a lot to me, as I’m sure it does to most people. The soundtrack is only one of the amazing parts of the film, and I realized that there was a song from the movie that could work inconspicuously as a background track for this show, so I used it without hesitation. There are only a few uses of the common musical motifs in this particular track that lend itself to be recognizable as a part of the soundtrack, but not too obvious or overwhelming. That, along with it’s overall brilliance, gravitated me towards it for a background piece for my show.
IF YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A BACKGROUND TRACK, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
Errors
I couldn’t find any errors this week, but if someone looks through the archives and found one, please let me know!

Story 1: EU leaders visit the White House
Leaders from eight different EU countries visited the White House on Monday regarding efforts to end the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This meeting was hastily cobbled together after Trump’s disastrous meeting with Putin last week. They’re desperately trying to jingle their keys louder than the evil dictator, all for the leader of the free world. What a time to be alive.
Story 2: Federal govt buys stake in Intel
Trump announced on Friday that the US government will be making an 8.9 billion dollar investment into semiconductor manufacturer Intel.

The only hard part about this story was figuring out which of Trump’s failed businesses to mock. Not that there was any shortage of options, but as is the nature of my one-minute long program, time is always of the essence.
Story 3: Redistricting wars: Texas
The redistricting war continues, as Texas enters the last few stages of officially gerrymandering 5 GOP seats for the 2026 midterms.

I don’t know how I feel about making a wheelchair joke about Texas Governor Greg Abbott. I wouldn’t have even thought of it, if Newsom hadn’t made a joke about it a week or two ago. I was thinking of doing a joke about Ted Cruz’s trip to Cancún a few years ago, but I didn’t feel like it was relevant enough, even if it was the “safer play.” At the end of the day, I still think the joke was funny, and I don’t like Greg Abbott, so who really cares.
Behind The Scenes
This week has new lights! I set up the filming lights I got last week and they worked a treat, I can say with confidence that I feel like this episode’s footage of me looks the best, and I will try to emulate this week’s visual look for the foreseeable future. Next week, I will finally have a wireless adapter for my lav mic, so I won’t have to run the wire down my leg anymore. Not that anyone can see that part, but for me personally, it will make filming this show that much easier and give me that much of a quicker turnaround time. Fun stuff. Hi mom!
That’s all for now. See you next week,
