This Week’s Track:

John La Barbera Big Band - Mayreh

On the Wild Side (2003)

I was really glad this week’s video didn’t get copyright claimed, and sounds really cool. Hopefully I can find more tracks that don’t piss of TikTok or YouTube. If you didn’t see last week’s video, it’s probably because it was copyright claimed and taken off YouTube immediately after I posted it.

If you have any recommendations for a background track, please let me know!

Story 1: King Charles Visits Our King
King Charles of England visited the colonies this week, He addressed Congress, seemingly as a means to launch his new standup comedy set.

I’m not a huge fan of the English Monarchy, but the visit was unproblematic, had some funny moments, and reminded us that a peaceful, sane America perhaps has not completely slipped through our fingers.

Story 2: SCOTUS Guts the VRA
The Supreme Court struck down a 2024 Louisiana congressional district map created specifically to boost minority representation under the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

This sucks. So bad. The Supreme Court is meant to insulated from other aspects of government, to interpret the Constitution without letting the BS of the current political climate effect their rulings. Instead, we have a drunk, a self-hating woman, a self-hating black man, and three other status-quo loving white men, who are able to effectively steamroll the liberal justices. I’m not saying that the liberal justices should have a majority, I honestly think they’ve done a worse job of keeping their ideology out of the SCOTUS, but because its been so long since a liberal majority, that doesn’t even matter. I just want the courts to be actually fair, but I guess that’s thinking too wishful for the modern day.

Oh, and f*ck you, Ron DeSantis.

Story 3: White House Correspondent’s Dinner Shooting
The White House Correspondent's dinner was interrupted earlier this week by another attempted assassination against President Trump

Stupid distraction from things that matter. I don’t care about the ballroom. I don’t care about a mentalist. I care about the illegal war in Iran and the prospect of paying so much money in taxes to continue killing people in a foreign country, all while our domestic prices continue to skyrocket. I don’t think the shooting was staged, but I do think RFK Jr is a loser for not helping his PREGNANT wife during the shooting. I also think Kash Patel is a loser, because he apparently sh*t his pants during the event, and then also got cheated on, which was weirdly reported a lot by different outlets. Anyways, I’m just tired of the distractions. The news cycle is so exhausting. I read somewhere today that SCOTUS is placing further restrictions onto abortion access. I’m not surprised, but I’m tired. I don’t want that to bleed into my show persona, but friends, I am exhausted. No rest for the wicked, though. I shall persevere.

Outfit

I wore my Terraria hoodie again, in memory of my friend, Griffin Miller. He passed away 2 years around this time. Sorry I faded your hoodie so much, dude. But I’m really glad I still have it.

Errors

I filmed an entire segment about the resignation of former Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and her misconduct involving her family, but I forgot that she resigned two weeks ago. Whoops! I cut that segment completely. Not a error that anyone saw, but an error nonetheless.

If you find any errors from this episode or a previous one, let me know! I’ll add it to next week’s newsletter.

Behind The Scenes

Hi. It’s been a while. I’ve been extremely busy, as evident by my inconsistent upload schedule. I’ve been posting biweekly for a little while now, and not really on purpose. I just don’t have as much free time as I’d like. Yes, I am extremely lazy, but that’s not the whole story. AP tests are this week, I’ve got a band concert in a week or two, I wrote a play, and I still am doing my best to make these videos as much as I can. I’ll try to be more consistent with my newsletter, but my engagement hasn’t been great lately. It’s kind of demotivating to not see as much engagement, but I suppose that’s the tradeoff between prioritizing my life over a consistent upload schedule. I digress. Thank you for reading, and I will try to actually send out another newsletter in a timely fashion on a more consistent basis. I appreciate all of your support.

That’s all for now. See you next week,

Sean ✧
