The Mindful Librarian
Aug. 9, 2025, noon

It occurred to me this summer, Michelle, that this is my first summer as an adult that I haven't either been working full time in the summer or responsible for three small humans and driving them everywhere. Age 44, for me, is apparently when I get to start my adventuring era! And those moose - what an embarrassment of riches! I'm so happy we hiked somewhere so remote that day ~ moose really don't seem to want to be where humans are. My daughter got to have an almost-too-close encounter with one while working in Maine last year when she was working backcountry at Tumbledown Mountain. There was a massive bull right behind her when she turned around after being down a trail a bit away from her crew. YIKES! Beautiful, but dangerous too.
