I will do anything to avoid driving on the interstate through Nebraska and Iowa, Maria! Unfortunately for you, though, you wouldn't want to take the pretty Sandhills route, because it takes you straight north through Nebraska onto I-90 in South Dakota. So, good for me, since I live in SW Wisconsin (I take I-90 all the way from SD into my city in WI), but would definitely take you off the faster route!
