So in the last newsletter I made noises about “I probably need to put these out more often” and then did not send a single email out in the month of July. Hopefully most of you are nodding in rueful recognition, but probably some of you are just shaking your heads and muttering “John. John.”

Whatever, you should try being less judgy. Anyway I’m back now to remind you that there are still slots open in the upcoming sessions of both the South and North versions of Improv for Introverts, the best class in town for nervous beginners yadda yadda yadda. And the Buddy System deal is in effect for both of them: Sign up two people at once and get fifty bucks off. This is such a good deal you can’t afford not to take improv.¹

If you’ve already taken Improv for Introverts and would like more (and maybe couldn’t do the recent Level Two class for whatever reason), I want to mention again that a genuinely surprising number of people are retaking Improv for Introverts and (as far as I can tell) having a great time doing it. I mean, it’s not like you learned everything perfectly the first time, but even more importantly, playing with a completely new group of people really changes the class experience. Just mentioning!

In related news, I’m looking to start up the Mercury Monthly workshops again. These are monthly two-hour drop-in sessions for graduates of Improv for Introverts in which we focus on a particular aspect of improv and work on it. (In format they closely resemble a single night of the six-week class.) It’s a really fun way to keep your improv chops up without the six-week commitment and I think a lot of people might be interested.

But I need a rental space! Right now the logical night would be Mondays, so I’m looking for someplace central so that both North and South alumni would be equally inconvenienced. If you have any hot leads on a centrally located rental space, let me know.
