Mend and Bend Newsletter - August 2023
Hello, friend! Thanks for taking a quick gander at my [somewhat inconsistent] newsletter!
Mending News
I'm really longing for a sense of community right now, and I'm excited about the idea of keeping up with my friends who are just as passionate as I am about the art of mending and slow fashion. It's amazing to connect with people who share these interests and values, and it feels like a way to make lasting friendships. I'm looking forward to more meetups where we can exchange ideas and tips about sustainable fashion and creative mending, and I believe it's going to be a wonderful journey of learning and bonding together. I'm hosting a gathering THIS MONDAY evening at Grandma's House in Denver. For more info, go HERE.
Leah from Round Trip Goods and I still are co-hosting monthly Repair Nights at FoOL, where a mending community is blossoming! These are on the second Tuesday of the month, and we would love to see you there! The next date will be Tuesday, September 12th. RSVP & Info HERE.

Other News & Musings
I have finally been hiking and mushroom hunting in the mountains this month! It's fantastic to be immersed in nature AND go on little scavenger hunts. Peep the strawberries we stumbled upon last weekend:
Earlier in the summer I did some urban foraging and found some mulberries and service berries at a couple different locations in the Denver area. Bonus: I got to share them with family in the form of a brie & berry galette.
I held a little tie-dye gathering for some friends, and can't wait to host more. Check out some of the results:
I invested in a stand-up paddle (SUP) board last year and have been out on the water a few times this summer. Make your way over to the flooded trees at Chatfield Reservoir for some truly relaxing summer water vibes.
Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you are well.
