Hi everyone! I hope you're enjoying your summer. I've been having a lot of fun biking, kayaking, hiking, picking blackberries, and watching long sunsets- everything but playing the violin in front of an audience.
I'm going to be playing a
concert in Discovery Park next Sunday with LUCO, though! It'll be on the grounds of the Daybreak Star center from 1 - 3pm on the 20th. Bring your picnic and your blanket and your kids and your dogs and let me know if you're coming, because LUCO opens and closes the concert, and I'll be able to hang out and chill with you for the middle.
We'll be playing selections from Grieg's Symphonic Dances to start the concert, and dancers will be performing with us! We'll close the concert with the last two movements of Beethoven's 7th. In between, there will be more dancing and a string quartet.
The concert is to raise awareness and funds for making Fort Lawton's buildings, many of which are currently empty, into an arts center. You can read more about that and more about the concert
here.
As always, thanks for reading, and thanks for listening!
