Hi friends,
I hope you're having a wonderful summer and a good cross-border North American national holiday weekend.
Next Sunday, I'll be sitting in with the
Sooke Philharmonic, for their annual
Summer Fling concert. So if you feel like a trip out to Sooke, bring your picnic basket, blanket, sun umbrella, frisbee, dog, beach ball and whatever else strikes your fancy, and come listen to some fun summer music. It'll feature a selection of waltzes, marches and polkas, at least one and possibly two national anthems (neither of which I have ever played before), a piece about owls in which a trombone does a convincing barred owl impression, a romantic viola solo, and much, much more.
The concert is free (although we'll be taking donations), so just make your way out to
Ed Macgregor Park at 2:30 on July 9th, and enjoy some fresh air, beautiful scenery, and fun music.
As always, thanks for listening!
Melinda
