Second Breakfast

Hi! My name is Meghan. I'm a freelance journalist covering food and culture, and I live in Los Angeles. I won a James Beard Foundation award for stalking the Iowa State Fair while yelling, "Senator, how's the corn dog?"

I also write weird, queer fiction, including a finalist for the Nebula and World Fantasy awards. After some time in the MFA mines, I've been focused on novel writing.

I use this newsletter as a playful, bloggy space to write about cooking and eating, and to share updates on my own work and what I'm reading. For the moment, I'm planning on sending it out once a month. I hope you will join me!
