Hello friends! My name is Max Daniels and I’m a life coach and a writer. I wrote a short and salty book about the easy way to quit overeating and binging. I write here about all manner of life improvement. And I have a monthly column about self-care over at Modern Daily Knitting.
Please get in touch if you’re looking for coaching. You can also ask me a question.
I used to know someone with a blog called “No Help Here.” That always made me laugh but then as now I try to offer the opposite: Actual help, right here. THUS:
I have one no-cost space in my practice for a three-month engagement with someone who wouldn’t otherwise be able to pay. Is this you?
If your instant response is WHAT YES! then plz hit Reply to this email and tell me what you want.
What do you want to create in your life? That is what we will do together.
This three-month coaching spot is for someone who truly doesn’t have the means to hire a coach. It’s not for someone who has or could get the money in some way but feels bad / been encouraged to feel bad about their desire for help and can’t “justify” the expense or doesn’t want to explain it1 to a significant other. If you’re reading this you know the difference.
(Which, let me just repeat something I’ve said before: NO ONE should feel bad about wanting help. There are 8 BILLION of us here and we are not meant to go it alone under all circumstances.)
So when you write, you can just tell me what you want from the engagement. You don’t need to explain anything about your finances.
I am available Monday thru Wednesday. We can do one (maybe both, if the stars align) of two things:
Create a result you want in your life, like delightful relationships, satisfying work, glowing health, spiritual rebirth, the big stuff. Or support beginning or finishing (or, again, both!) projects like getting your will done, writing a book proposal or a book, planning your retirement … or a big trip.
Begin a deep reflective conversation about your life so far and its meaning, which people sometimes find wants to happen before creating new results.
Please note! I am a life coach, not a therapist (though I have trained and been certified in the Narrative Therapy style2 of Michael White). My approach might remind you of therapy, and it is deeply moral and ethical, but I am NOT LICENSED and would not be your gal in the area of trauma.
Okay! That’s available. Feel free to ask me questions; just hit Reply.

Two things have come to my attention: I did not put a link on the recommendation for my book last time. Sorry about that! Remedied here today all over the place:

The other thing is: some of you have not bought my book!? I mean: if you have struggles with eating, this book will show you how to solve 95% (at the very least!!) of your problem, for next to nothing ($5 US!) in no time flat (I think you can transform this issue by DINNERTIME TONIGHT) and also it will make you laugh. It’s available in paperback and on Kindle.
For your circular needles: the Tool Book from Stitchcraft Solutions. THIS THING! Omigoodness. Do you ever look at that ugly plastic over-the-door hook holding an ugly clanking snarl of circs and think there’s GOT to be a better way? This is it. It’s a simple heavy-duty cardboard binder with vinyl pockets that sits so demurely, so tidily, on my shelf. (I don’t get a cut of this action, I just love it. I LOVE THIS THING.)
Latest Murderbot installment by Martha Wells: Platform Decay. This is the 8th(ish) entry in the series and you do not need to have read any of the others to enjoy Murderbot’s current daring adventure. It is, as usual, forced to go to alarming lengths to protect and rescue the do-gooder humans it’s attached to. I think you will enjoy the other SecUnits here too.
Widow’s Bay. Thank god no one tries to do a Massachusetts accent! I’ve lived here since college and can’t do it. My dad was BORN here and he couldn’t do it.
Actually, Dale Dickey, who is not of Massachusetts, does something adjacent and does it well. I take it all back! Anyway, RIYL your horror mild and also Matthew Rhys.
Anyway! I hope you’re well. Write and let me know.
If you do have these sorts of “money” problems operating on your life, that’d be a good thing to bring to coaching. ↩
