Welcome to leaping greenly. This strange phrase comes from an E.E. Cummings poem called “i thank You God for most this amazing”. I am drawn to the way the poet uses green as an adverb, as if one can move through the world with a quality of color. Through this newsletter, this new mode of expression, I am leaping greenly (greenly as in baby leaf unfurling, as in early spring bloom, as in first day of school) into sharing generously with those wanting to receive.
This is a space where I’ll share my fumbling and summersaulting through creative life. More specifically, topics may include spirituality, poetry, hope-building & keeping, creativity, slow-living, things I see on walks, care-taking, printmaking, etc etc.
Arist & former nun Corita Kent said, “There is no line where art stops and life begins.” I’m letting those words sink in!
Having a newsletter is a way for me to experience gentle digital companionship as I grow in my identity as an artist. Thank you for being here, & feel no pressure to stay.

aforementioned poem:
i thank You God for most this amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday;this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any—lifted from the no
of all nothing—human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
