April 2026 Update
Practical Signals
March brought one of the clearest signals yet for Lunar Prototypes: two people reached out with real-world problems and asked for prints to solve them.
That is the direction LP is built for. Practical, adaptable parts that help real things fit, mount, route, protect, or work better.
Recent Releases
- Wall Mount Tablet Holder – Developed in collaboration with Paddy Melts, then turned into a more general design others can adapt to their own setup.
- Bolt and Nut Cover – A simple protective part created to keep exposed hardware from scratching nearby surfaces.
- MagStow Scrap Bin – Updated with improved threading, with the Printables listing now labeled more clearly for material sorting.
These continue the same core focus: durable, practical utility.
In Progress
April is focused on two tracks: more multi-material designs that still work on single-extruder printers, and refinement of the export workflow behind multi-color and multi-material parts.
The goal is to make useful material combinations possible with the equipment people already have, including simple filament-change workflows using materials like PLA and TPU.
On the platform side, some designs that currently export as multiple STL files are being reworked to better support 3MF output and cleaner slicer setup. That should make them easier to import, arrange, and actually use.
Direction
The long-term aim remains consistent: build a customizable, web-based hardware layer where parts are generated to fit instead of approximated.
It also means a clear shift away from exclusivity and early access. More of this work is moving toward open, public release because that fits Lunar Prototypes better than putting useful designs behind a wall.
If you have a practical fit, repair, routing, mounting, or organization problem that could benefit from a configurable solution, the Discord is open.
