Hello Nelson families,

We just wanted to provide you with a quick update on our hot lunch program, as this is often the week that it goes live. (If you’re new to Nelson, hot lunch is available to order in advance online for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Friday)

There will be a bit of a delay this year for hot lunch starting up, but it’s for a very happy reason: our hot lunch ordering website, MunchaLunch, has completely updated their website! It looks to be a big improvement (you can check it out here and register your child in their new division while you wait). However, the big update has created some issues with generating order reports for Foodie Kids, our main food provider. Our hot lunch coordinator Mike is working hard with both of them to remedy this, and it’ll hopefully be up and running by the end of the month!

Also important: we have hot lunch subsidies available for families that need them. You can read our subsidy policy here, and there is a quick, easy and confidential application here. If you or someone you know in the Nelson community is experiencing food insecurity, please contact the principal, Mr. Eng, as additional resources are available.
