Hi Nelson families,

Great news to start your weekend: hot lunch ordering is open! Please read to the bottom of this email before heading over to https://munchalunch.com to order. Enjoy the capabilities of the new and improved website!

The order deadline for the first meals (Sept 29 and Oct 1) is Wednesday September 23 at 11:59pm.

Going forwards, the order deadlines will always be end of day Wednesday of the week before, with one exception: for White Spot day, October 16, the order deadline is 2 weeks in advance: September 30 at 11:59pm. Deadlines are visible on the website calendar.

IMPORTANT: Hot lunch CANNOT run without volunteers! If you’re able, please sign up to help (scroll down for available days). It’s a 30 minute commitment of sorting meals (people will tell you what to do!), and you can even spy on your kid(s). If you have younger ones, they can tag along.

If you see Mike, our hot lunch coordinator, please give him an extra “thank you” - he put in a lot of work to get the updated website up and running! If you encounter any trouble while ordering, give us a shout.

Lastly and also importantly, a reminder that hot lunch subsidies are available. You can read our subsidy policy here, and there is a quick, easy and confidential application here. If you or someone you know in the Nelson community is experiencing food insecurity, please contact the principal, Mr. Eng.
