Please see below from a community member who is hoping to ramp-up some afterschool programming that is creative and STEAM-based.

Hi Nelson parents,

I’m a local educator offering a small, structured creative group for children in Grades 1–5, focused on hands-on projects that combine art, design, and problem-solving.

Each session involves building and creating – from mixed media and simple fibre art to more STEAM-inspired projects such as bath bombs or balloon rockets. Projects will be tailored to different age groups.

The aim is to provide a focused, supportive space where students can engage their brains and hands together, developing confidence in their thinking and creative abilities.

A 6-week spring series is planned for early May to mid-June. Timing will be finalized based on interest and availability, with a small group to keep the environment focused and supportive.
