A few spaces left for this Saturday 25th May - Wholegrain Baking with Tom Baker

Join our founder Tom Baker for a Wholegrain Baking course at Loaf!

Since last teaching at Loaf in 2019, Tom and his wife Jane have set up a new bakery and micro-homestead near Machynlleth in mid-Wales, Rye and Roses. As well as producing bread and pastries with a strong focus on sourdough and whole grain products, they grow their own toppings for their wood-fired pizza nights, and are part of a collective of farmers and enthusiasts that have helped to bring wheat growing back to the Dyfi valley after decades of absence.

During the course you will be making a 100% rye ‘Vollkornbrot’, a yeasted Wholemeal tin using Tom’s locally grown ‘YQ’ flour, a spelt sourdough and a 100% wholemeal sourdough all using different techniques, flours and baking methods.

Specials this week

Sweet bakes available this week include Biscoff Banana Bread, Raspberry, Coconut & Lime Cake & Peanut Butter Crisp Bars!

On Saturday the bakers will be making two sourdough specials:

  • Hazelnut & Pumpkin Seed

  • Sage & Onion

No reservations - first come first served.

Wednesday

  • Curry: Tarka daal with sourdough (Ve)

Thursday

  • Leek, Potato & Cheddar Pie with a Spring green salad (V)

Friday

  • Curry: Tomato Curry w/ Sourdough (Ve)

  • Salt beef on challah bun

Wed - Fri

  • Sourdough Pizza: Grilled Courgette, red onion, lemon whipped feta, mozzarella & rocket (V)

  • Ham and cheese croissant

  • Tomato, spinach and cheese croissant (V)

Wed – Sat:

  • Sausage rolls

  • Vegetable rolls (V)

Lunches are made fresh weekdays for 12 noon.
