At the end of September you may have seen a callout to one and all that we need apples for our Mincemeat. Well , we are happy to report that our mincemeat has been sat in the dark depths of the bakery curing away ready for December.
This year was a nice gathering of four of our bakers, including Michael and Mina, who are two of our newest. This will be their first Christmas at Loaf and we are really happy that they have gotten to see the whole experience of our Mince Pies from start to finish. Training to do the whole process begins soon! We are very excited for the shifts that will involve Christmas playlists, Christmas lights in the windows and many, many pie cases filled with over 100kg of mincemeat.
Mince pies at Loaf are an all bakery affair with many hands on deck to make them each year. We are delighted once again to have local brewery Attics stout and our communities apples that make our mincemeat extra special. Watch this space for the start date for ordering your mince pies this December. Both Vegan and Butter will be available in the shop and to pre-order once again in a few weeks time!
The sweet shift is baking this week the following:
Miso, hazelnut + choc chip cookies
Blueberry + pear buckle cake
Chocolate + orange marmalade croissant pudding
Cherry + almond olive oil cake
Raspberry + peanut butter blondie
Everything blondie! (chocolate, pretzel, marshmallows, smarties + sprinkles)
The Saturday sourdough specials are:
Garlic, parsley, lemon + pepper
Maple bacon
No reservations - first come first served.
Tarka Daal with Sourdough (Ve)
Butternut squash, Sweet potato and tomato soup, topped with Roasted pine nuts (Ve)
Peanut butter, chickpea, potato and spinach curry with sourdough (Ve)
Salt beef on Challah bun
Sourdough Pizza:Mozzarella, Parmesan, Scamorza, Cherry tomato and Basil
Ham and cheese croissant
Mushroom, Rocket & Cheese Croissant (V)
Sausage rolls
Vegetable rolls (V)
Lunches are made fresh weekdays for 12 noon.
