We sell a core range of bread every week, which is great as you know what you're getting, but we sometimes forget how special they are. This week we're highlighting the multigrain tin.
The multigrain tin is our standard brown yeasted loaf. It starts as a blend of wholemeal and white wheat flour to which we add some rye flour and grated potato - the same base as the Stirchley loaf. We then add barley malt extract to give it that chewy, malty flavour, and a generous amount of oat, wheat and rye grains.
This is a great sandwich bread which holds its structure when sliced thin, and the malt and rye give it a distinct flavour which compliments whatever you decide to spread on it, be it fruity jams, fine cheeses or lashings of peanut butter. Or just eat it on its own!
You can pre-order large (£2.50) and small (£1.30) multigrain tins all week and we try to bake enough to keep it on the shelves all day (with any leftovers going to the food banks).
Cookery school classes for April have gone on sale. Scroll down this email or see our course calendar for what's available.
Hot Cross Buns are back from next week! Pre-orders will be available from Saturday afternoon. (You might see some on sale this week though as the bakers test our revised recipe...)
Save Stirchley Library - Birmingham council's swinging cuts will close 25 libraries this year. Please help make a case to keep ours open.
Stirchley Open Cinema are doing a charity film quiz this Thursday at Bham Brew Co. You could win some Loaf vouchers!
Birmingham City Council are currently consulting on a new road harm reduction strategy. The consultation is open until 5 April.
