This is the weekly newsletter from Loaf in Stirchley, keeping you abreast of our bakery and cookery school, and other news we think you might be interested in.
We hope you’re having a nice Easter! This week we have a look at a new vegan cookie that’s emerged from the Loaf kitchen…

🥖 We are closed next Tuesday, 18 April. This is due to an all-day all-staff meeting happening on the Monday, pushing back our bakery prep by a day. Tarka daal fans please adjust your diaries to Wednesday.

🥖 The Real Bread Campaign is focusing on making bread with kids, and is looking for teachers, school cooks and people making Real Bread in community settings to get involved in its new campaign.
🥖 Chloe at Verbena is using her newsletter to talk about seasonal ingredients and foraging locally, and is inviting questions.
🥖 Artefact’s events for April are up. An eclectic list, as always.
🥖 Anjuna Lounge is hosting Death over Drinks — Legal as part of the A Matter of Life and Death Festival on 4 May.

In theory we should have stopped making hot cross buns but the schools are still off so it’s technically still Easter so why the heck not keep them on for another week?
And as some of you might have noticed last week, the hot cross bun puddings are starting to appear. On the days where we didn’t sell out last month (yes, really!) the leftovers were popped in the freezer and we’ve collected enough to start baking them into our spin on bread pudding. If you’ve enjoyed our chocolate croissant puddings in the past, you’ll know how good these are.
We are slowly increasing our range of vegan sweets and cakes, and this month are pleased to announce the arrival of a new contender. Please welcome the peanut butter dark chocolate cookie!
At Loaf we believe vegan cakes shouldn’t be a lesser choice. We work hard to ensure they’re as good, if not better, than those made with dairy. Our goal is to have a vegan option on the sweets board each day so make sure you ask next time you’re in.
Lunches are made fresh weekdays for 12 noon.
Our menu for the week — with ingredients and allergens — is on the website.
The following classes have spaces as of this newsletter being posted.
June dates will be released over the next week.
