Bad news on the SCD front this week as GSA have pushed back the completion date AGAIN. It’s very frustrating, and we alongisde Artefact, Birmingham Bike Foundry and all the residents awaiting their new home are just really saddened by the way GSA have handled this whole situation. The treading water continues for another few weeks..

Thankfully thanks to Steamhouse Bakery and Deadbeat/Anosh you can continue to buy bread, sweet buns and lunches from us at Deadbeat - until further notice!

We will also be popping up at The Shed in Cotteridge park TOMROROW 31st May between 11:30am - 3pm as well as the following times at Deadbeat/Breadbeat alongside Anosh _{^{(@ 1473-1475 Pershore Road, Birmingham B30 2NT):}}

Pre-order Info

➡️ Click HERE to pre-order bread and buns for Wednesday till Saturday. If you don’t want to pre-order that’s alright, we always have more to sell, but we try not to let anything go to waste, so pre-orders are very helpful.

Pineapple House

If you haven’t visited Pineapple House lately, now’s the time. Lovingly restored over the last few years, this historic community space has been given a fresh new lease of life recently, and with the reopening of the station, it’s become an even handier local stop.

The team at Dad’s Lane Café are running Good to Go for commuter hours (equally handy for home workers in need of a coffee break), serving hot drinks and delicious treats in a perfectly placed spot. There’s plenty more happening too, from gardening groups to family activities - check out their website for more information.

Community Event: The Big Lunch & Big Help Out

Our friends at Yogabourne are teaming up with Cotteridge Park for a lovely community day on Sunday 7 June, bringing together local people, green spaces, and small independent businesses from across Stirchley.

The day begins with gardening and conservation activities in Cotteridge park, followed by a free outdoor yoga session led by Yogabourne’s Karine, before everyone settles down for The Big Lunch - a relaxed community picnic with refreshments and good company.

The event is free to attend but booking is encouraged for the yoga session and refreshments. Keep an eye out for posters and QR codes around the neighbourhood for more information.
