Loaf bakery & cookery school Loaf bakery & cookery school

Hello everyone,

Dorit here with the newsletter from Loaf.

Today we had our weekly Loaf meeting at The British Oak and wrote together a lunch menu for this week, checked which sweets Rach baked for the shop (list below!) and talked about bits and bobs to enable us to move soon into our new premisses (still nothing confirmed in writing yet, but steps forward every week).

We also talked about our plans for the next months, about mince meat, markets and exchanged what we now find ourselves to miss - our filing cabinet for example, having everything in one place and deliveries from Suma Wholefoods and all our local suppliers.

You can find the Loaf pop-up shop this week with a range of bread, rolls, sweet and savoury buns, cakes and lunches at Deadbeat with Anosh Speciality Coffee 1473-1475 Pershore Road, Birmingham B30 2NT

Opening Times This Week:

Anosh Speciality Coffee

Everyone who visited us at our pop up shop at Deadbeat should have walked up the steps to Anosh as well. If you haven’t yet - please do!

And here is why: anosh. is a pop up coffee bar operating out of Deadbeat. Essentially, it’s just Anosh making the coffees she loves (light roast, funky, fruity, juicy, sweet and acidic coffees). She has only one espresso on at a time and rotates through coffees and roasters regularly (pretty much weekly). She only brews and sells what she would also want to drink.

Part of the idea behind anosh. is making speciality coffee feel a bit more accessible to people who might not know about it. It’s giving people who wouldn’t necessarily know to order the guest coffee the “guest” style coffee. But also for those who do know about speciality coffee to come and nerd out with her. And yes - Anosh is a proper coffee nerd and we learned so much about coffee the last months. And drank a lot too …

If coffee isn’t your thing, there’s also hot chocolates and teas, fizzy drinks and rocky road dates (if you are lucky before they sell out). There is also decaf coffee available because Anosh loves coffee but doesn’t always love the buzz!

Anosh Speciality Coffee is open at 1473-1475 Pershore Road, Birmingham B30 2NT, Tue - Fri: 8.30-3 and Sat: 9-3.

Solid Joy celebrates the 90th Anniversary of the battle of Cable Street

Members of SCD are involved in organising a ‘Dancing as Antifacism’ party this Saturday to celebrate the battle of Cable Street in 1936, when hundreds of thousands of people took to the street, erected barricades and refused to allow fascism to walk through their streets in East End London. 90 years on Solidjoy Brum are marking this epic win with a massive night of dancing and play!

Solidjoy is the part of Cooperation Birmingham which is running fundraiser solidarity parties in Birmingham. Cooperation Birmingham is a cooperative of working class people living in and around Birmingham, who want to build an organisation that provides mutual aid to them and our surrounding communities. Stirchley Co-operative Development is part of this as well.

Location: The Gap, The Old Print Works, Balsall Heath, 498 Moseley Road, Birmingham, B12 9AH, England, Time and Date: 10th Octobr 2026 from 8pm.

Tickets here - If you can't afford a ticket please reach out via email or DM on Instagram and they will put one aside for you, no questions asked. All funds raised go to good causes organising in our city.

Another Artefact Presents… at Centrala next Tuesday!

The people from Artefact, our cheerful neighbours (waiting for their new space even longer then we do) is very excited to bring you another evening of blissful autumnal performance!

This time with Vision Fortune, who are back and thoroughly refreshed after a decade's musical slumber. Alex Townend is actually one of the members of Artefact and founded Vision Fortune in 2012 with AC Williams and soon after they were joined by a drummer who’s name is Andres Ayerbe.

Concert poster for the event

Armed with new material from their latest album, III, they will perform in the majestic city of their birth – Birmingham and its surrounding environs – for the very first time in their storied musical career!

Vision Fortune draws from drone, experimental and electronic music. They have toured extensively across Europe, the US and Asia, playing festivals such as Primavera, ATP, Levitation and SXSW. They’ve also collaborated on site-specific installations with artist Zhang Ding at the ICA and in Shanghai, and were invited to play Moma's PS1 Warm Up in New York.

Support will come from the inscrutable synth and bass duo Dziin Dziin, playing part spacious ambience, part rigorously sequenced jams.

If you want to know more about Vision Fortune - they just gave an interesting interview in The Quietus.

👉 Tickets £6 - Location: Centrala, Unit 4, Minerva Works, 158 Fazeley St, Birmingham, B5 5RT - Time and Date: Tue 13th Oct 2026, doors 7.30PM.

Pre-order Info

➡️ Click HERE to pre-order bread and buns for Wednesday till Saturday. If you don’t want to pre-order that’s alright, we always have more to sell, but we try not to let anything go to waste, so pre-orders are very helpful.

At the moment we can offer every day for pre-orders: Large White Sourdough, Focaccia, Cobs, Cardamom Buns and Cinnamon Buns. Our bakers will always try to make other loaf varieties and buns as well, but need to decide every week or even in the morning what is possible with the limited time and space we have at the moment.

➡️ Cut-off time for all pre-orders is 11am on the day before pick up!

Thanks so much to STEAMHOUSE for their continued support in letting us use a corner of their bakery in Redditch - we honestly do not know what we would have done without their generosity. 💛 💛 💛
