Hi friends,

Early summer has arrived. My garden is buzzing with bees and colourful blossoms. I try to spend time outside before the heat sets in, finding moments when it's still pleasant to sit with coffee and a project.

May was full and I am still sorting out all the feelings, even now in mid-June. From my brief time in Chicago at h+h, I brought home yarn for my students and unexpected designs. The Ayrton pattern is finally receiving the expanded sizing it deserves. The Thursday group, a few months in, is starting to show what's actually taking root, as well as where my skills are (and aren't).

I feel that it's all a reminder to savour time and experiences.

what's in progress

The new sweater is underway in Anzula's sparkly DK, Lucero. The design is shaped by watching how students approach knitting a sweater and developing my own opinions about how a pattern for a new sweater knitter needs to be written. Last week I finally cast on for the sleeve-as-swatch. I'm eager to see how it progresses.

The revised start with chai is nearly done. I tried to take pictures this morning, and I think asking Dot to sit still would've gone better. Some days I feel comfortable enough in front of a camera, others I don't. I'll try again soon. When it's published, the update goes to everyone who already owns the pattern. Ayrton is getting the full rework: expanded sizing and a new sample in Anzula Cricket, in that bright yellow that is growing on me more each day.

I have several other samples and designs in progress, and some projects I'm knitting for those who are not able to complete them for various reasons. There's lots to work on. Every day.
