Week 30
This one is for my dad
Hello friends,
I lost my dad this week.
His career in science never really recovered from that one time in high school where every single one of his fruit flies escaped. Instead, he found his heart’s passion in history and the law. He would be so proud of the work you are doing to protect as many people as you can in this terrible world.
I remember one time I was in despair over climate change. He told me that I needed to understand that when he was my age, the rivers were burning. There were three things were simultaneously true in that moment that are still true now. Things are terrible. They have been even worse. It is in our power to make them so much better.
I’ll be back next week.
