Hi! We’re glad you’re here. We are Ambika Kamath + Liz Neeley. We’re the founding members of Liminal—a science communication collective that focuses on sensemaking in a noisy and complicated world. We envision Liminal as an antidote to that horrible feeling of being alone and adrift amidst high volumes of low-value advice.
What you can expect from Making Science Make Sense: connections, collections, curation, and reflections on science communication, roughly twice a month. In other words, we hope, a small volume of high-value content.
- Process Notes: short missives about what we’re up to at Liminal—how we’re thinking about sensemaking in scicomm and how we’re setting up our member-run collective.
- From Theory to Practice: deeper dives into the big concepts behind sensemaking and how they play out in the real work of science communication.
- In Conversation: interviews with new members of our collective, collaborators, friends, and inspirations.
- Meeting the Moment: our commentary on current events in science and scicomm, through the lens of sensemaking.
- Solicited Advice: hot takes on things that matter to us.
- The Stack: links to the media, resources, and tools we are enjoying or finding useful, with notes about why we appreciate them.
- Upcoming: information about our new offerings and upcoming events.
