Shop update & upcoming show

Hello!

I’ve got three bits to report today.

First up is the shop update coming on Saturday at noon Pacific. This weekend I’ll have two tree frog mugs,

a tree frog vase,

two tree frog planters,

one cicada planter,

and one lonely ichthyosaur fossil mug that didn’t make it in time for the last update.

So that’ll be this weekend. Next weekend, I’ll be packing all the art I’ve made for my upcoming show and heading north. I’m taking the slow route along the coast, stopping for a friend’s wedding in the Bay Area, a Whale Festival farther north, and all the tide pools I can find. At the end, I’ll be in Canon Beach, Oregon for Beasts of Burden a three-person show with Shing Yin Khor and Eva Funderburgh opening May 2. All the work will be available through Archimedes Gallery (I’ll send an update with the details of that when they’re available). In the meantime, here’s a preview of one of my pieces.

And finally, registration continues for my online workshop in June! I’ll be teaching how to develop a narrative sculpture making sure all your decisions serve the story you want to tell. I’ll also be demonstrating my sculpting techniques, from large shapes to tiny details.

More to come about Beasts of Burden soon, and hopefully some pictures of nudibranchs if the tide pool visits go well. Fingers crossed.
