Beasts of Burden - opening this weekend

Hello! After a meandering week on the road, I’ve reached the Pacific Northwest. Which means it’s finally almost time for BEASTS OF BURDEN, the three-person show with me, Shing Yin Khor, and Eva Funderburgh to open at Archimedes Gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon.

The opening will be from 5-7pm on Saturday, May 2, and online sales will begin at 11am Pacific, Sunday, May 3.

To receive a Collector's Preview, please email info@archimedesgallery.com

And just to follow up my previous newsletter, I did in fact find multiple nudibranchs during my drive along the coast.

Other creatures I saw along my drive include otters, many elephant seals, harbor seals, & sea lions, a gray fox, and a herd of elk. The most remarkable thing I encountered was a deceased juvenile gray whale decomposing on an Oregon beach, which was equal parts sad, awe-inspiring, and stinky. It was like stumbling across the grave of a god while out on a stroll, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I’m sure some version of my feelings about it will show up in clay before long.

Anyway, I’m hoping to see a few more tide pool denizens during our time in Cannon Beach this weekend. Cannon Beach is always a delight, and I can’t wait to see Shing and Eva’s work in person. It should be a lovely show.

I’ll send out a link here when online sales open, but do get on that preview list if you’re interested!
