I’m back from the 2026 session of the Wayward Retreat, which means leaving a beautiful bubble of art magic, untouched by cell service or wifi in the Canadian wilderness, and coming back to where things like deadlines, bills, and social media live. It’s not always a smooth transition. The community that inevitably forms among each year’s Wayward cohort is hard to leave. The lake under the the shooting stars is hard to leave. The version of myself that I am there is hard to leave.

Or, maybe more accurately, that version of myself is hard to bring home intact. Especially once I hit cell service and realities that aren’t so magical reassert themselves, access to a creative flow unconnected to the requirements of capitalism becomes strained. That’s just the world we live in, which makes me all the more eager to start planning for Wayward 2027 (I’ll let everyone know when applications open for that).

But now that I’m home, I’m fully into the last big push on my fall show, happening in November at Haven Gallery on Long Island.

I’m also back into work that will land in the shop sooner or later— including my first teapot! It’s at the studio being fired now, fingers crossed it comes back well!

Meanwhile, I have a small piece in a group show at Beinart Gallery in Melbourne, Australia! It’s titled Long Term Memory, and is available as of now.

And that’s the small update for now. I’ll have a shop update soon, as well as more progress on the upcoming show.
