Hi friends,

Today I have two Christmas songs for you.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

and God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen

For both of these, I wanted to limit myself to something that could be performed live, with just a loop pedal and a synth. I figured out this arrangement of O Come, O Come Emmanuel last year, for my friend & bandmate Kelcy Mae’s holiday songwriter showcase (check out her band & their excellent record).

I then thought to myself, Lauren, I thought, what else could make for a good looped Christmas song. I noodled around, and came up with this version of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen (comma placement intended). I played an early draft of GRYMG for a friend, and her only comment was creepy! which, on reflection, is the genre of all my favorite Christmas Songs.

These were very fun to make and I’m quite happy with the results! I hope you like them too. Please feel free to share with your family & friends.
