Hi friends!

You’re getting this email because at some point, you signed up on an email list for LLYDIAN or The Light Set. Alternately you’re my friend and I was very presumptous and put you on this list, heyoooo :)

A great many things have happened since June 2019, which was the last time I sent any kind of mass email. I went on a cross-country road trip to Seattle, worked at a friend’s pizzeria, took another cross-country road trip back to New Orleans, got a new day job, wrote some songs, and made some plans for performing & recording that were dashed to hell by covid, the way that all of our plans were.

I am so lucky and so privileged to be able to work from home at my day job, and so so lucky that my family and friends have been able to stay safe and healthy. I hope the same is true for you.

This summer, I bought a fancy new microphone… immediately started recording an album… and immediately bogged down due to the (gestures vaguely) everything. I did manage to put two new songs up, which you can hear on soundcloud, but anything else, not so much.

I don’t know about you, but I really thrive with a bit of external motivation. Thus, hello. Welcome to Double L, a twice-a-month newsletter (Yes, I think I’m *very* funny). I’ll be sending out a finished recording of a new LLYDIAN song at the end of every month. And every two weeks in between, I’ll send a little something else - maybe a playlist, maybe a deep dive into a song I love, maybe just a cool picture of a bird or the ocean. Who knows? We’ll find out together!
