Hi friends,

Changes are afoot!

Here's some stuff going on:

• The name of my solo project is now Past Imperfect

  • I was thinking about names for the record, and I thought of Past Imperfect.... and then I thought "wait, that feels like a band name"

    • I'm here to apologize to everyone I've ever run band names by before

    • It turns out that sometimes you just know, like falling in love, or being the reincarnation of a savior figure in a sci-fi/fantasy world

    • Band names are hard, I have now come up with only three good ones

    • I'd rather tell people "Like the grammatical tense" versus "Like the musical mode, but with two L's at the beginning and all caps"

    • Ultimately, a name doesn't matter – it's merely a designation for an entity. In my experience, the longer a name is in use, the less meaning-in-itself it retains, and the more it forms in the mind as a reference, a feeling, a sensation, a series of subconscious memories

    • Yeah I'll stop

  • "The imperfect tense has two primary uses: to describe on-going actions and states of being in the past, and to state habitual actions in the past"

    • I just think it's neat

    • That definition is from here

    • It's just incredibly applicable to what I keep writing about, ya know?

  • In retrospect, my penchant for all upper-or-lower case is TOO fastidious, even for me

  • Less than 5, but more than 2 people have called me Lydia, which is not my name :(

• Interiors will remain on Spotify under LLYDIAN, but most everything else on this internet that was LLYDIAN will now be Past Imperfect.

  • This includes: Soundcloud, Bandcamp, and all future solo releases on any streaming music services ;)

  • I still have the twin dragons of facebook and youtube to update, but that will happen in the next couple of days

• Notable exceptions:

  • My IG and twitter handles will stay @thelaureno, because it's just easier, let's be real

  • About half of those songs are going to be redone and put on the Past Imperfect record (coming out in 2023....? let us hope n pray)

  • As of today, the links in past episodes of this newsletter are broken

  • The christmas songs and a couple other odds & ends are still on soundcloud for now, I'll let you know if it changes

  • If you are SUFFERING without access to those last year songs, pssst, here you go, it's a secret just 4 u

• Also, the focus of this newsletter is now just,,,, general news? about whatever i'm making???

  • Like, I'll probably plug any upcoming TLS shows here

  • I might put up a cover or two, and you'll hear about it, trust

  • No schedule anymore, obviously! It was very helpful in 2021, though, so thank you all for that <3

  • As the header image states, this institution is now nameless

    • as previously stated, am bad at naming things

    • will take suggestions

    • but also "newsletter" .... it has a ring to it

• It bears saying that I really appreciate each and every one of you.
